Basic Study Alternative (BASALT) is one of the programs launched by the Academic and Proffessional Skill division of EAGE UNHAS SC in order to improve the knowledge and skill of EAGE members. The program runs twice a week. This program also head for share information among the members.
BASALT is a program that can be an alternative for the students to studying geophysics in developing knowledge of earth science. This program is not only reserved for the members, but if there’s other students who want to join us to learn, EAGE will greatly appreciate these students.
This program commenced on March, 16th 2014 which was attended by members EAGE and some students of Hasanuddin University who want to learn more about geophysics. The themes that have been discussed such as geological time, rocks and minerals. BASALT is quite attracted the attention of geophysics students because they are able to discuss and share about geophysics, geology, and any others kind of Earth Science. Moreover, we can examine deeply about the basic things that are sometimes overlooked by the students. After the presenter has finished presenting the material, students may ask questions related with the theme presented.
The presenter is from EAGE member. EAGE members challenged to present the theme. So, the members not only roles as organizers, but also must ready to be presenters. This is where we can realize the motto of EAGE. Learn to know, know to share, and share cause we care.
