EAGE/EFG Photo Contest 2015

EAGE/EFG Photo Contest 2015

After the success of last year, the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) and European Federation of Geologists (EFG) are again jointly organizing the Photo Contest 2015.

So for all you photo enthusiasts out there, the EAGE/EFG Photo Contest 2015 is now open for entries. The 12 best photos will be presented at the 77th EAGE Conference & Exhibition 2015, which will be held from 1-4 June 2015 in Madrid, Spain. Afterwards the top 12 will be exhibited at further EAGE and EFG events and will be also published in a calendar. Like in previous years, we can again expect many entries of excellent quality.

Theme
Once again, the theme of the Photo Contest 2014 will be 'Geoscientists at work'. However, this time there is a twist. There will be four sub-categories.

1. Education & training
2. Landscapes & environment
3. Fieldwork
4. Energy

Education & training

Photos in this category should depict activities related to education or training, including Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities.

Landscapes & environment

This category will cover all photos depicting environment related scenes and landscapes with interesting geological structures, including minerals and metals.

Fieldwork

Activities such as, but not limited to field geophysics, mapping or modelling will fall into this category.

Energy

Photos relating to energy (whether the source is oil, gas, water, geothermal, wind or sun) will fall into this category.

We invite all EAGE members and members of EFG’s 24 national associations to submit photos that relate to these themes. After the submission period all members will have the opportunity to cast their vote for the 12 best pictures on this website.
